Beaver Wrestling Rolls Thunderbirds & Cardinals
Wednesday night, Pratt Wrestling continued their season at Cloud Thunderbirds with duals against Cloud County Community College and Labette Cardinals. 
 
In the Beavers' first dual of the night, they faced the Labette Cardinals.
 
Zane Donley got the dual started at 125 lbs. with a first period Fall. Freshman Matt Long kept the momentum rolling with a 9-4 Decision over Jordan Cullors at 133lbs., who was a returning 2025 NJCAA All-American. at 157lbs., Jacob Goodwin got the team back on track with a 26-10 Technical Fall while at 165lbs., Zachary Wessley improved the team score to 20-9 with a Third Period Fall. At 174lbs., Trystian Juarez got a Third Period Fall while at 184lbs., Drew Withington wasted no time with a 27 second Fall followed by Preston Hagel getting a first period Fall at 197lbs. To close out the dual, Marcel Gonzalez won a 5-1 decision at 285lbs. The Beavers took the first dual over the Cardinals with a final score of 41-9. 
 
In the Beavers' second dual of the night, they took on the Cloud Thunderbirds. 
 
Once again, at 125lbs., Zane Donley got the dual started with a First Period Fall. At 133 lbs., the Thunderbirds were open, giving Matt Long a Forfeit. At 157 lbs., the Thunderbirds were open again, giving Jacob Goodwin the Forfeit win. Zachary Wessley, at 165 lbs., worked quickly to get the First Period Fall. Keeping the momentum going, Trystian Juarez at 174lbs. got the 17-2 Technical Fall over 2025 National Qualifier Micah Cauthers while at 184 lbs., Drew Withington got his second Fall of the night. At 197 lbs., Preston Hagel won by a dominating 8-2 decision. 
 
Pratt Wrestling improves to 6-1 on the season in KJCCC Duals. The Beavers will continue their season on February 14th hosting the NJCAA South Central District Wrestling Tournament, which is the Qualifying Tournament for the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships, in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena.
