The Beaver Wrestling Team continued their season at the Bob Smith Open in Hays, Kansas at the Gross Memorial Coliseum on December 8th. 
 
The Beavers had 16 Individuals competing, with 4 Placements. 
  
Zane Donley at 125 lbs. finished his day with a 4th place finish. With a forfeit in the Consolation Bracket, Donley finished the day with a 5-2.
 
Jacob Goodwin at 157 lbs. He finished the tournament 5-1 reaching the NCAA 6 Match Limit Rule which only allows a wrestler to compete in 6 Matches a day. He battled back from a 3rd Round loss to Former Pratt Beaver All-American Cash Thomas. Goodwin would have to forfeit his 3rd/4th Place Match due to the NCAA 6 Match Limit Rule. 
 
Preston Hagel at 197 lbs. Finished the day with a 4th place finish. Hagel battled back after falling in the first round to the eventual finalist. Due to the NCAA 6 Match Limit Rule, Hagel had to forfeit his 3rd/4th Place Match. 
 
Matt Long captured the Bob Smith Open 133 lbs. Title with a gritty 2-1 Decision in the Final over #4 Sean-Michael Gonzalez of Carl Albert State College. Long would collect two falls on his way to the Semi Final. In the Semi Final, Long would get a 15-0 Technical Fall over Jett Schwartz of Fort Hays State University.
 
The Beavers will continue their season on December 14th where they will compete at the Cougar Open hosted by Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas at The Panther Athletic Center.
