Balint’s Double-Double Not Enough as Beavers Fall to Cloud County

The Beavers turned in a competitive effort but were unable to overcome key mistakes down the stretch, falling 70–55 to the Thunderbirds of Cloud County.

Polla Balint led the way with an impressive double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. She was efficient throughout the night, shooting 9-of-14 from the field and providing a consistent presence on the interior. Kalani Brock narrowly missed a double-double of her own, finishing with 12 points and 9 rebounds while battling on both ends of the floor.

Despite strong individual performances, personal fouls and turnovers proved costly for the Beavers. Extra possessions and trips to the free-throw line allowed the Thunderbirds to maintain control, especially during key stretches of the second half. A few small mistakes at crucial moments kept the Beavers from shifting momentum and cutting deeper into the deficit.

The Beavers continued to compete and showed flashes of strong execution, particularly in the paint, but ultimately could not string together enough stops and clean offensive possessions to change the outcome.

Pratt will look to regroup quickly as the Colby Trojans come to town this Saturday. The matchup will also mark Sophomore Night, as the Beavers celebrate the contributions and dedication of their second-year student-athletes in front of the home crowd.
