Turnovers Prove Costly as Beavers Fall in Defensive Battle

The Beavers stayed within striking distance throughout a low-scoring contest but were unable to close out the game as fatigue and foul trouble mounted late against the visiting Broncbusters.

Polla Balint led the Beavers with a strong all-around performance, finishing with 11 points and 9 rebounds in 31 minutes of action. She shot an efficient 5-for-10 from the field and went 1-for-2 at the free-throw line while anchoring the team on both ends of the floor. Anna Dwyer provided a huge spark off the bench, contributing 8 points and helping keep the Beavers competitive.

Despite the effort, 33 team turnovers proved costly and ultimately shifted the momentum in favor of the Broncbusters in the closing moments. The Beavers battled defensively and kept the game close until the final stretch, but were unable to overcome the late challenges.

The Beavers will look to clean up the turnovers and build on the positives as they move forward. The women will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to El Dorado, Kansas, to take on the Butler Community College Grizzlies. That game will tip off at 5:30pm
