Pratt Community College women's basketball returned to action against Friends University Junior Varsity after a 3-week Winter break. The Beavers prominently defeated the Falcons 79-50 at home, extending their record to 11-1 overall on the season.
The blue and white started the contest with a prominent 22-5 lead to end the first quarter of play. The run was fueled by a combination of efforts from Pratt's starting lineup. Four starting Beavers produced a double-digit scoring performance.
PCC's leading scorer Rylee Alexander came through for her team with a game-high 19 points that helped garner a victory. The freshman also made impacts on the defensive end of the ball with six steals.
Starting forward Janell Douvier earned 11 points alongside five rebounds and four assists. Behind her were fellow freshmen Courtney Cleveland and Dymond McElrath who contributed 10 points each as well.
Cleveland made five buckets from the field in just 15 minutes of court time. McElrath came up just one assist shy of a double-double as she dished out nine playmaking passes to her teammates.
The game against Friends marks the last nonconference game of the 2018-19 season for the Beavers. A win against the Falcons keeps Pratt undefeated at home with an impressive 8-0 record while playing in the Beaver Dome.
Only conference opponents lie ahead for PCC in the remainder of the season. Pratt also remains undefeated in conference play (4-0).
Now currently enjoying a 6-game win streak, the Beavers will return to conference play on Jan. 5 when they travel to compete against Neosho County Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
