Strong Performances Highlight Season Opener at Friends University First Chance Qualifier

The Pratt Community College Track and Field team opened the indoor season with several strong performances this past Saturday at the Friends University First Chance Qualifier held on the campus of Wichita State University.

Noa Turner led the way on the track, finishing sixth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.76, a mark that qualifies her for Indoor Nationals. Turner also placed fourth in the 400 meters, crossing the line in 1:01.8. Bravynn Taleb turned in an impressive day as well, recording personal bests in both events. She ran 8.01 in the 60 and followed it up with a 1:03.24 in the 400.

On the men's side, Ross Martin delivered a standout performance in the 800 meters, finishing a very close second in 1:59.52 after already competing in the 400 earlier in the meet. Enrique Webster placed eighth in the 400 with a time of 52.03, while Tramaine Nottage was right behind him in ninth, running 52.05.

In the field events, Dwight Jones had an excellent first performance of the season in the high jump. He cleared 6 feet, 3 1/4 inches to earn a fifth-place finish, marking a strong start moving forward.

Overall, the meet provided a solid opening and set the tone for the rest of the indoor season.
