Beavers Explode for 26 Runs in Doubleheader Sweep

Goodland, KS - Pratt Community College softball delivered an offensive showcase in a dominant doubleheader sweep yesterday afternoon, piling up 26 runs across two games in an impressive road performance at Fort Hays Tech Northwest in Goodland, KS.

In game one, the Beavers erupted late to secure a 14-1 victory behind a balanced attack and strong pitching. Pratt collected 14 hits, with multiple players turning in standout performances at the plate. Jaidyn Marshall led the charge with four RBIs, consistently delivering in key moments, while Brooke Matamoros powered the offense with a three-hit day that included extra-base hits and two RBIs. Dallas Rutter also made a major impact, driving in three runs, including a triple. Kennadie Arevalo added to the offensive surge with a home run and three runs scored. In the circle, Blair Shipman was in control throughout, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run and striking out six to anchor the Beavers defensively.

The momentum carried into game two as Pratt continued its offensive dominance in a 12-4 win. The Beavers once again showcased their depth, tallying 12 hits with contributions throughout the lineup. Callie Curtis delivered a perfect performance at the plate, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the way. Dallas Rutter stayed hot, collecting two hits and driving in two runs, while Gianna Renzi and Daniella Zamora each added two RBIs of their own. Kennadie Arevalo continued her strong day with another multi-hit performance and an RBI. In the circle, Pratt used a combination of arms, with Jasmine Reyes getting the start before Danielle Page and Karlie Johnson combined to shut things down, holding the Tigers scoreless over the final three innings.

Across both games, Pratt's combination of timely hitting, power throughout the lineup, and steady pitching proved too much to overcome. The Beavers' offensive firepower and depth were on full display, signaling a team finding its rhythm at the right time of the season.

The Beavers will return to action Sunday at 2p.m. in Colby to make up a game postponed earlier this season due to weather.
