Pratt, KS - Pratt Community College split a windy doubleheader against the Seward County Saints on Friday at Pinkall Field inside the Green Sports Complex in Pratt, Kansas. Breezy conditions played a factor throughout the day as both teams battled shifting winds and tough defensive reads.
Game One: Pratt CC 0, Seward County 9
Pratt found early momentum hard to come by and fell 9-0 in the opener. The Beavers managed four hits but struggled to string together consistent offense.
Desirae Lopez led the way at the plate with two hits. Jaidyn Marshall and Alyssa Montez each added a hit as well. Pratt created a few opportunities but could not push a run across.
Karlie Johnson started in the circle and worked through early pressure before Seward extended the lead in the middle innings. Pratt rotated arms late but could not slow the momentum.
Game Two: Pratt CC 10, Seward County 2
Pratt responded in a big way in the second game, earning a 10-2 win and showing a complete performance on both sides.
The Beavers were aggressive early and continued to apply pressure throughout. Kennadie Arevalo delivered a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Desirae Lopez set the tone at the top of the lineup, scoring four runs and adding two hits, including a triple. Alyssa Montez chipped in two RBIs, and Dallas Rutter added another.
Aiden Rodriguez worked multiple walks and helped create scoring chances. Gabi Kelly and Brooke Matamoros each added key hits to keep innings alive.
In the circle, Blair Shipman was steady and efficient. She threw a complete game, allowing just two runs while keeping Seward off balance all afternoon.
Pratt capitalized on opportunities, took advantage of defensive miscues, and controlled the pace late to secure the win.

Pratt now enters a long road stretch, playing 14 of its next 16 games away from home. The Beavers will return to Angood Field on April 15 to face Dodge City Community College.
