Pratt Community College delivered a strong all around performance Saturday, sweeping Fort Hays Tech Northwest in a home doubleheader at Angood Field.
Game 1
The Beavers set the tone early and never let up in an 11-0 run rule win. Pratt exploded for four runs in the second inning, followed by four more in the third and three in the fourth. The Beavers finished with 13 hits and controlled the game from start to finish. Several players contributed at the plate, as Pratt consistently applied pressure and capitalized on scoring opportunities. Nearly every player managed a hit for the Beavers. Desirae Lopez led the way with two hits while collecting 4 RBI's. Jaidyn Marshall finished with 2 RBI's on 2 hits. Dallas Rutter and Kennadie Arevalo both had home runs in game 1.
In the circle, Karlie Johnson delivered a dominant outing. She threw a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out seven. Her command kept Fort Hays Tech Northwest off balance throughout.
Pratt backed the performance with solid defense and closed the game in five innings.
Game 2
Pratt carried that momentum into Game 2, securing a 12-2 win behind another strong offensive showing. The Beavers jumped out early with one run in the first, added two in the second and third innings, then broke the game open with a seven run fourth inning.
Kennadie Arevalo led the way for Pratt, collecting 3 hits and 4 RBI's while Callie Curtis drove in 3 runs. The Beavers finished with 11 hits and continued to produce throughout the lineup.
In the circle, Jasmine Reyes earned the win, allowing just two runs on five hits across five innings while working efficiently through the Tigers' lineup.
Game 2 marked the return of Daniella Zamora, who made her first appearance of the season after completing her basketball season. Zamora made an immediate impact, collecting two hits, driving in two runs, and adding extra base power at the plate.
Pratt showed consistency across both games. The Beavers combined timely hitting, strong pitching, and aggressive play to secure the sweep. The Beavers will look to build on Saturday's performance as they face NOC-Tonkawa on Monday before returning to KJCCC play on March 28th at Hutchinson.
