The Pratt Beavers turned in a strong all-around performance, earning a doubleheader sweep over the Independence Pirates with a 5–0 win in Game 1 followed by a hard-fought 7–6 victory in Game 2.
Game 1 – Pratt 5, Independence 0
The Beavers set the tone early in the opener, combining timely hitting with a disciplined defensive effort to secure the shutout win.
At the plate, Samantha Castillo paced the offense, going 2-for-3 and consistently putting pressure on the Pirate defense. Aiden Rodriguez added a strong showing as well, collecting a hit and contributing key at-bats that helped generate scoring opportunities. Pratt capitalized when chances presented themselves and played clean defense behind solid pitching to keep Independence off the scoreboard.

Desirae Lopez delivered a standout performance, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and sparking the offense from start to finish. Her consistency and clutch hitting kept the Beavers within striking distance and helped fuel multiple scoring innings. Castillo continued her strong day offensively, while Kennadie Arevalo added key contributions to keep rallies alive.
When Independence made a late push, the Beavers responded with composure. Pratt executed in key moments, stringing together timely hits and making the necessary defensive plays down the stretch to hold on for the 7–6 win.
The sweep showcased Pratt's balance, resilience, and offensive depth. From timely hitting to steady defensive play, the Beavers demonstrated the type of all-around effort that can build momentum as the season continues. The Beavers will next be in action on March 4th at Seward County.
