The Pratt Community College Beavers are the 2026 KJCCC Regular season champions! In the 5th year of the program, Head Coach, Jeret Johnson, has built a team that was able to claim the crown.
The team opened up conference play with a 5-4 win vs Cowley College. Sophomore leader, Thiofhi Tshivhase was a standout. He opened the match playing doubles with Kenta Kawada. The combination of Tshivhase and Kawada won 8-6 during the doubles session. Pratt led 2-1 after doubles. In singles, Tshivhase won 6-1, 6-1 to help cement the team's victory.
The next conference match, Barton Community College, went a little smoother for the Beavers. The team finished with an 8-1 victory. Matthew Harris was the highlight of the match. He stepped into the #1 doubles team without having played a match with his new partner, Sam Dinneen, beforehand. The duo won 9-8(4) and helped the team take a 3-0 lead out of the doubles session. In singles, Harris defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-1.
The final conference match for Pratt featured the Seward County Saints. The match ended 8-1. This match featured the return of Kenneth Rabinad Vila, who won a match at #1 doubles with his partner, Sam Dinneen. Daniil Blinov was the team's standout player for this match. He and his partner, Edward Westfall, won their doubles match 8-4 before he won his singles match 6-0, 6-3.
Pratt will play host to the Conference tournament on April 21 and 22 at the Walter Blake Tennis Complex! Come show some support to your hometown Beavers!
