Beavers Sweep Colby in a Sophomore Night Spectacle- Cameron Cox
[Pratt , KS-Feb 21st, 2026] - Saturday night was a perfect sendoff for Pratt's sophomore class as the Beavers dominated and delivered an amazing performance to secure a conference victory over the Colby Trojans with a final score of 74-60. This win snapped a six game losing streak for the Beavers and earned them their fourth conference win of the season.
Pratt (7-20) (4-18) started off the first half cold as they fell behind 5-0 early on. The Beavers would get the offense going after Galvin Luketa nailed a three. Hunter Vaughn also contributed to the early Beaver scoring, cashing in a three of his own. Colby (5-22) (3-18) would answer back by going on a 6-0 run and the Beavers took a timeout. The Beavers were able storm back as Galvin Luketa caught the hot hand. Luketa showed off his three point prowess by draining 5 straight threes. The Dome was absolutely rocking and the Beavers held a 25-21 lead halfway through the first half. Colby was not willignly to go down without a fight as they tied up the lead at 29. Hunter Vaughn then hit two threes of his own and the Beavers began to run away with the game. At halftime the Beavers were leading 43-31
The Beavers shot 16-34 (47.9%) from the field in the first half. The Beavers were letting it fly from beyond the arc shooting 10-28 (35.7%) from three. Colby shot slightly worse splits from the field going 12-29 (41.4%) from the field and 4-11 (30.0%) from deep.
The Beavers capped off Sophomore Night by controlling the second half and running away with the game. The Beavers ended up securing their fourth conference win against Colby in a final score of 74-60
