Beavers fall short against #24 Dodge City- Cameron Cox

[Dodge City, KS-Feb 14th, 2026] - Men's Basketball was on the road against Dodge City for an late season conference game. The Beavers were searching for their fourth conference currently on a five game losing strak. The Beavers would play an ultra competitive game on Saturday night but would lose 86-77. 

Game Recap: 

Pratt (6-19) (3-17) started off the first half hot jumping out to a 7-2 lead after Muna Godswill nailed two shots early. Galvin Luketa also contributed to the early Beaver lead, cashing in a mid range jumper of his own. Dodge City (16-9) (12-7) would answer by going on a 7-3 run quickly making it a one point game. The Beavers were able to control the game and the clock for the following three minutes with the score being 18-15. Dodge City answered, scoring a quick bucket to make the game 18-17 with 11 minutes left in the half. Scottie Guillory Converted a layup to make the score 20-17. Dodge City answered with a 5-0 run to take their first lead of the game. Pratt retook the lead at 24-23 with 8 minutes left in the first after Kisean Robinson slammed home a dunk. Both teams were deadlocked the majority of the final seven minutes until Dodge City hit a shot with 3 second left in the halftime to give them a 39-37 halftime lead. 

The Beavers shot 13-37 (35.1%) from the field in the first half. very few points came from beyond the arc with the beavers shooting 3-14 (21.4%) from three. Dodge City shot better splits from the field going 16-30 (53.3%) from the field and 3-9 (33.3%) from deep. Galvin Luketa and Seydina Faye led the Beavers in scoring at the break both with 8 points.  

The second half began by Dodge City catching fire as they went on a 9-0 run. Muna Godswill scored the first points for the Beavers in the half as the beavers fell behind 48-39. Both teams then traded shots with each other with neither team separating. After the first 8 and a half minutes of the second half by the Beavers still trailed by 9 points 59-50. "Kele" Kane hit a three assisted by Kisean Robinson that would get the Beavers within six of the Conquistadors at 66-60. Hunter Vaughn dished the ball to Galvin Luketa whom tried to ignite the Beavers offensive spark by hitting a three on the next possession. The Beavers still trailed by 5 at 71-66 despite back to back threes by Kane and Luketa. Dodge City responded by getting their lead back up to 10 on the few possessions. Kisean Robinson hit a three to make the score 78-72 and get the Beavers back within two possessions. Unfortunately the effort would be too little too late as Dodge City extended their lead back to 10 points with just 16 seconds remaning. Kisean Robinson nailed the last bucket for the Beavers as he hit a three with 8 seconds left. Dodge City would nail two more free throws to ice the game and the Beavers lost their 6th straight game. Pratt played the #24 ranked Conquistadors extremly competitive however the effort fell just short in the second half.

Muna Godswill had 16 points and paired that with 7 rebounds 

Seydina Faye had a Double-Double with 10 points and 10 rebounds 

Kisean Robinson had 14 points off the bench and paired that with 6 assists
