Beavers take down Blue Dragons at Home

[Pratt, KS-Jan 14th, 2026] - Men's Basketball was at home against Hutch and erased a seven-point halftime deficit with a dominant second half to defeat the Blue Dragons 71–65 in the Beaver Dome.

Game Recap:

Hutch controlled the opening 20 minutes behind an explosive individual performance from Kyrell Shaw, who finished with 34 points on 11-21 shooting and an elite 10-13 at the free-throw line. The Blue Dragons led 36–29 at halftime.

The momentum flipped after Scottie Guillory hit a buzzer beating three to give Pratt some momentum heading into the second half. 

Pratt outscored Hutchinson 42–29 in the second half, leaning on depth, rebounding, and defensive pressure. The Beavers struggled from the perimeter shooting just 3-23 from three, but compensated by attacking the paint, generating second-chance opportunities, and forcing turnovers. 

Pratt won the rebounding battle 34–33, including 13 offensive boards, which translated into crucial extra possessions during the second-half run. Defensively, the Beavers forced 16 Hutchinson turnovers.

The game went down to the wire but ultimately the Beavers would pull away late and secure their second conference victory against Hutch.
