[Colby, KS-Jan 7th, 2026] - Men's Basketball was on the road against Colby for a mid season conference game. The Beavers were searching for their first conference win currently on a 10 game losing streak. The Beavers would play an ultra competitive game on Wednesday night and would go cold in the second half leading to a nailbiting Beaver win 71-68. 

Game Recap: 

Pratt (4-11), (1-9) started off the strong with Colby (4-11), (2-7) falling behind to the Beavers early 11-6. Pratt would score more buckets of their own making it a 21-13 game early on the Beavers still leading. Galvin Luketa knocked down a three to push the Beaver lead to 10 points 35-25. 

The following four minutes saw Pratt dominate the game jumping out to a 40-26 lead. With 1:00 left in the first half the Colby finally broke their scoring slump with a few buckets. The damage however would not matter as the Beavers had controled the first half. The Pratt lead would continue into half with the Beavers leading at half 42-30.

The second half Colby came out firing from deep slashing the Beaver lead to 44-38. Hunter Vaughn answered with a three of his own to give the Beavers 47. The Beavers held on to a 10 point lead for the following three minutes trading buckets back and forth with Colby. Colby's offense started to fire up cutting the Beaver lead to just 4 at 56-52. At the five minute mark Colby tied the game up at 60 a piece. Hunter Vaughn then gave Colby 5 points of his own to make the Beaver lead 65-60. With one minute remaing in the game the Beavers led 68-61 over Colby. Colby would try a late comeback but failed leading to the Beavers 71-67 win. This is the Beavers first conference win and has snapped a 10 game losing streak. 

The Beavers shot an efficient 26-56 (46.4%) from the field. The Beavers were also solid from beyond the arc shooting 8-19 (42.1%) from three. Colby shot similar splits going 20-52 (38.5%) from the field and 9-22 (40.9%) from deep. Hunter Vaughn led the Beavers in scoring with 22 points on an extremely efficient 7-10 (70.0%) field goal percentage. Hunter Vaughn was complemented by Galvin Luketa and Seydina Faye all scoring 10+ points.
