[Pratt, KS-Dec 30th, 2025]

Men's Basketball sits at a frustrating 3-10 overall record going into the second semester picking up all 3 of those wins in their first 4 games jumping out to an early 3-1 record. Early season conference play has given the Beavers some trouble as right now they are winless in KJCCC play. Despite being winless the Beavers have been competitors in nearly every game.

The Beavers opened the season up on the road against Indian Hills Community College in a game where Indian Hills jumped out to an early lead and the Beavers could not recover leading to a loss. Following that the Beavers bounced back getting two great wins against William Penn University and Sterling College. In those two victories Pratt absolutely dominated winning 92-47 and 124-61 respectively. The Beavers then went on the road and picked up another dominant win this time over Phoenix College. Following that the Beavers would go on a 9 game slide with the first loss coming against New Mexico Junior College. The Beavers would then take their first conference loss at home against Fort Hays Tech Northwest. The Beavers nearly bounced back with two straight close games against Garden City Community College and Butler Community College. The following game was an absolute nail biter at Independence where the Pirates won on a buzzer beating putback. Following that the heartbreak contuined for the Beavers falling to Seward on another buzzer beating layup. The following two games were less intense however the heartbreak would not stop as the Beavers lost to Barton Community College and Cowley Community College. The final game of the semster was a thriller the whole way through against Dodge City. Despite the Beavers leading nearly the entire game unfortunately the Beavers would fall 69-61. This moved the Beavers to 0-8 in conference play which has them last in the KJCC.

The standout players so far this season for the Beavers have been Hunter Vaughn and Seydina Faye. Hunter Vaughn has been holding down the backcourt for the Beavers averging 13.7 points per game and 3.7 assists per game. Seydina Faye has been an all around superstar being the teams leading score with 13.8 points per game and  the leading rebounder with 5.7 rebounds per game.

The Beavers as a team have been efficent from the field shooting 42.8% from the field. However, the Beavers have struggled from deep shooting 29%. The Beavers have also struggled with turnovers this season averaging 17.3 a game. The coaching staff has mentioned that this is a talented group who can compete with any team in this conference but just need to improve on a few aspects as a team.

The Beavers start the New Year off against Cloud County Community College this Saturday, January 3rd in Concordia.
