Pratt MBB Begins Conference Play Against Fort Hays Tech Northwest- Cameron Cox

[PRATT, KS-Nov 19th, 2025] The Pratt Community College Men's Basketball team kicked off their conference slate against Fort Hays Tech Northwest on Wednesday night. The Beavers battled hard but ultimately fell 87-62. 

Game Recap: The Beavers (3-3, 0-1) started the game hot with a three-pointer from Keletigui "Kele" Kane. The Beavers then followed that up with a steal by Hunter Vaughn which turned into an alley oop slam for Kane. The Beavers would take the early lead at 5-0. The Tigers (5-1, 1-0) would answer quickly going on a 7-0 run to make the game 7-5 in favor of Fort Hays Tech Northwest. Pratt would respond with a big three from Kane to make the score 9-8. Kele had the first eight points for the Beavers. Both teams went on a scoring run over the next few minutes making the score 16-14 halfway through the first half. A scoring drought would then plague both teams with the next four minutes only seeing six total points scored. With 6:17 left in the half, Kane hit a three to give the Beavers a 21-18 lead. Following the big time three, The Tigers called a timeout. Coming out of the timeout, the Tigers were determined and caught fire from deep. Over the next three minutes Fort Hays Tech Northwest would go on a 13-0 which put them on top 31-21. The two teams closed out the half by trading buckets and Pratt went into the break trailing 36-27. 

 The Beavers were first to score in the second half, with Kane connecting on a three. Kele would continue the momentum for the Beavers hitting another three on the following possession to cut the deficit down to just three. This momentum propelled the Beavers to retake the lead 37-36 after just four minutes of second half basketball. The Tigers didn't back down and caught fire again from deep which propelled them into their own 13-0 run. After eight minutes of second half basketball the Beavers trailed by 10. Muna Godswill then connected on an alley oop slam assisted by Vaughn. After another Tiger three-pointer, Kisean Robinson answered right back to make the score 58-46 in favor of the Tigers. The Tigers continued to push the pace and hit from deep which fueled another 10-4 run in favor of Fort Hays Tech Northwest. The Beavers continued to fight back with Kane hitting a three pointer to make the score 70-55 with five minutes remaining. The Beavers kept playing hard but ultimately when time ran out the Tigers would take this one 87-62

 Player Notes: 

- Keletigui "Kele" Kane led the Beavers in scoring with 19 points. 

- Hunter Vaughn also added 14 points and 8 assists
