The Beaver Valorant Team Win 2025 CVAL Fall Warmup Odin Division Championship

Pratt, Kan. - On Sunday, Nov. 9, the Pratt Community College (PCC) Valorant team defeated the Seneca Polytechnic Sting 3-1 to win the 2025 CVAL Fall Warmup Odin division championship. The Beavers finished the group stage 4-0 and defeated the University of Utah, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and the University of Alberta in the playoffs to make it to the finals. Pratt entered the tournament as the 58 overall seed out of over 150 schools, and, in the Odin division, the Beavers were the 18 seed out of 40 schools.

"We entered the tournament with something to prove having been placed in the second division due to technicality," said head esports coach Charles Keefer. "Having said that we took care of business and put our program and the Valorant team on the map with this win."

Unfortunately, the PCC League of Legends team did not have as successful as a tournament finish. The number one overall seed entering the 2025 CLoL Fall Warmup, the Beavers finished group stage 4-0 and knocked off the University of Texas-Austin and the University of Washington on the way to the semi-final match. On Saturday, Nov. 8 Pratt faced the University of California-Irvine in the semi-finals and came up short 1-3 to end their tournament.

"To say we were disappointed to fall short of the finals and the chance at the tournament championship is an understatement," said coach Keefer. "We unfortunately had a bad day against a talented team and fell short of the goal. I am hopeful that the team will rally from this loss and be better prepared for the upcoming playoff matches."
