Mitchell Earns 2025 Rick Sutcliffe Pitcher of the Year Award

Pratt Community College right-handed pitcher Hunter Mitchell has been named the 2025 Rick Sutcliffe Pitcher of the Year following an outstanding 2025 summer season with Regal Plastic.

Mitchell tied for the league lead in wins, finishing the season with a perfect 5–0 record. He ranked second in the league with a 1.44 WHIP and a .248 opponent batting average, while his 1.31 ERA ranked fifth overall.

Regal Plastic manager Clint Culbertson praised Mitchell's competitiveness and poise on the mound. "Hunter competed every start," Culbertson said. "He never panicked, he just continued to attack the strike zone and get guys out. You always knew you had a chance to win when he started."

A 2024 graduate of Richmond (Mo.) High School, Mitchell is set to begin his sophomore season at Pratt Community College in Pratt, KS.
