The PCC Men’s Soccer Program kicks off their season tonight against Dodge City Community College.
Talking about his program, Head Coach Kevin Kewley said: “Pratt Men's soccer teams have always had high expectations, and this coming season will be no different. Our Goals are to make the National tournament. We have a great soccer tradition here at Pratt, and in all the years I have coached here, we have only missed the playoffs once.”
This should be a tough year for the program, especially with KJCCC’s Division 2 field being strengthened by the emergence of Kansas City Kansas Community College (who previously played in the NJCAA Division 1 ranks). Despite the addition, Coach Kewley is confident that the weaknesses his team showed last year have been corrected and that this year will show an improved squad.
“Freshmen Oliver Bennett and Fabio Berthelot are adding to our offensive threats this year, while last season's top goals scorer Tayo Adejoya is returning. I'm optimistic about our offensive threats this year. Defensively, Freshmen Harley Bates and Charlie Sweeney were impressive in pre-season. These new additions along with a solid core of sophomores, led by captains Freddie Fenton and Raul Levia, should translate into a special squad.
“The Beavers will keep fighting for a play-off spot and will never quit!”
