Pratt Community College men's basketball traveled to Colby, Kan. to face Colby Community College. The Beavers struggled against the balanced offensive attack of Colby. PCC suffers a loss to Colby 81-95.
Statistically, Pratt and Colby were very evenly matched against each other. The Blue and White were 28-61 from the field for 46 percent, while Colby was 33-67 for 49 percent. From three point range, PCC made 7-21 for 33 percent, and Colby matched that by going 9-27 for 33 percent. The difference came in rebounds and assists. The Beavers had 29 rebounds and nine assists while a much longer Colby team had 49 rebounds and 25 assists.
The Blue and White had four players break double digits in scoring. James Brooks led the Beavers with 16 points, four rebounds and a steal. He also was four for seven from three point range. Asem Johnson finished with 11 points and a team high six rebounds with two steals. Clinton Bentley and Dawson Gunter rounded out the scoring for Pratt with 11 points each.
Player of the game goes to Colby's James Dalton. Dalton led all scorers with 24 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
PCC men's basketball returns to the Beaver Dome on Feb. 14 for a game against Garden City Community College. The game will tip at 8 p.m.
