Pratt Community College softball closed out the home portion of the regular season with a double header against Barton Community College. The Beavers fall in the double header dropping both games to Barton CC.
In game one, Barton took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning. The Blue and White responded by getting a run back in the bottom of the second. Lyndsey Loomis led off the inning with a double to center. She then stole third. A single by Bailey Young brought Loomis home to put Pratt on the board trailing 1-2.
The defense of both teams deadlocked in the third. Despite several chances to score, neither team conceded a run through six innings. The Barton bats came alive in the top of the seventh caped off by a pair of home runs. PCC could not answer in the bottom of the seventh falling in game one 2-12.
Game two did not see the bats cool off for Barton CC. Michaela Trevino tried to spark the offense for the Beavers with a hit. Her efforts for the offense were aided by Taylor Carey who scored for the Blue and White in the third inning on a passed ball. PCC falls to Barton CC 1-12.
PCC softball wraps up the regular season on the road against Garden City Community College on April 22. First pitch in the double header is set for 2 p.m.
