Pratt Community College baseball returned to Stanion Field to take on Barton Community College in a four game series over the weekend of April 8 and 9. The Beavers battled and split the series with Barton going 2-2.
In game one, the Blue and White gained the lead in the third. Barton CC chipped away at the lead and tied the game at three runs apiece in the seventh. Barton took the lead with three runs in the eighth. Pratt tried to rally, but only managed to bring a single run home. PCC drops game on 4-6.
Daniel Johnson led the Beavers at the plate in game one. He had two doubles and two runs in four at bats. Reece Garvie continued his strong play for the Blue and White in game one. He went one for four at the plate with a hit, a run and two RBIs.
The Pratt baseball team rallied back from the loss to take game two 7-2. Johnson and Garvie led the team by combining for four RBI's and three runs. Each player had a pair of hits as well.
Dylan Hamilton got the win on the mound for the Beavers. In six innings of work he gave up five hits and two runs while striking out six batters.
Game three was all Barton CC. The bats for Barton were hot, combining for double digit hits. PCC falls to Barton 1-13.
The Beavers offense came through in game four as the Beavers took the game 10-5. Michael Davis led Pratt at the plate. He had three hits, three runs and five RBIs in five at bats for the Blue and White. Quentin Kopjar commanded from the mound in game four. He allowed six hits and three runs while striking out five batters in six innings of pitching.
PCC baseball hits the road to finish the rained out series against Butler CC. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
