The Pratt Community College baseball started a four game series against Butler Community College on April 2. While weather has delayed the conclusion of the final two games in the series, the Beavers managed to split the first two games with Butler going one and one on the day.
Butler scored first with runs in the second and third innings for a 0-2 lead. Reece Garvie sparked the offense for the Blue and White in the fourth inning. Garvie stepped to the plate and hit a solo home run over the right field fence. After the fourth inning, the defense for both teams stepped up and prevented any offense from breaking the game open. Butler holds on to secure the win. PCC falls 1-2.
Game two saw the bats come alive for the Beavers. Taking advantage of a hit batsmen and a walk to lead off the second, the Blue and White brought three runs home in the second inning.
In the third inning, Daniel Johnson led off for Pratt with a double. Garvie singled to bring Johnson home. Michael Davis followed up with a single of his own to put runners on first and second. With two outs, Tynan Hofferle came up to bat. Hofferle hit a blast over the left field fence for a three run home run. The Beavers ended the inning leading 7-0.
The Blue and White scored one more run in the fifth on back to back doubles by Anthony Romer and Garvie. Dylan Hamilton led PCC on the mound. In six innings of work Hamilton faced 23 batters and struck out six. The Beavers took the game two 8-1.
