PCC baseball drops a heart breaker to NOC-Enid

Pratt Community College baseball traveled to Enid, Okla. for a mid-week game against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. The bats for the Beavers led to another high scoring game, but NOC-Enid matched the offense of the Blue and White. NOC-Enid used a bunt with a runner on third to steal the game away in the bottom of the ninth. PCC drops the game to NOC-Enid, 9-10.

The Beavers started the game in explosive fashion. Daniel Johnson reached on a single to right field. Anthony Romer followed the single up with a home run over the right field fence to give PCC the lead at 2-0. NOC-Enid answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first.

The game remained locked up with both teams trading runs until the Blue and White claimed the lead in the fourth after scoring two runs. Romer brought Johnson home from third with a single to left field. Romer stole second and came home on a single by Michael Davis to left field.

NOC-Enid kept chipping away at the PCC lead even when the Beavers added additional runs in the seventh. The game was tied heading into the eighth. Reece Garvie reached first for the Blue and White with a single to first base. With two outs, Garvie stole second and third. Ben Van Diest would score Garvie with a triple to center field.

Pratt maintained the lead going into the bottom of the ninth. NOC-Enid tied the game with a double, and then used a bunt to bring the runner home to take the win.

PCC continues their current road stretch with a four game series against Butler Community College on April 1 and 2. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. on both days.
